Oak double buffet, French, c. 1870-1880. Elaborate floral carving is characteristic of the armoires from the Normandy region. The naturalistic carvings are intricate and edge each set of doors, as well as the top and bottom of the buffet. Elaborate brass escutcheons complete with keys and double sets of brass fiche hinges frame each door.
